Well these three hit big homeruns on Thursday, but the funniest game was played on the "Corner" of Michigan and Trumbull. Maris hit his league leading 5th of the season and he is ahead of his pace...now at 74. Moose Skowron hit a walk off job, his third, to win it for Yanks...and "The Duke" of Earl had his second two homer day in a row. He is six for 9 with seven rbi and four dingers! Now lets get to that game in Detroit. Tigers took a 5-1 lead into the top of the 9th. Jim Bunning wasn't his best but he had enough gas to make it to the finish line...or so Bob Scheffing thought. The Bosox route him and a couple other relievers for six run and the Bostonians take a 7-5 advantage to the bottom of the nineth. Four relief pitchers later and three Tiger runs cross the plate and 8-7 Detroit win...their 8th on the season. Billy Bruton furnished the game winning single, hitting a sharpe grounder between short and third. Tigers find themselves still trailing the Chicago White Sox who are now 8 and two...Tigers are just a half game back.
