Only one game on this Monday in May, 1961 and that saw the Chicago White Sox increase their lead to one full game over Detroit with their 7-5 win over the Minnesot Twins. The "Go-go Sox" flexed their muscles and hit four homeruns in the game, two by Jim Landis (3rd of season) and one each by Roy "Squirel" Sievers (2nd) and Al Smith (4th). Frank Baumann pitched seven solid innings in picking up the win with help from Gerry Staley. Harmon Killebrew hit his third homerun of the season for the Twins.
