Steve Barber had a complete game three hitter for Baltimore in their win. His only problems was his usual lack of control...fastball clocked at a pre-steroid mph of 98. Marvelous Marv Throneberry tattooed Bob Turley in the first inning for a grand slam homerun to stake KC to an ealy lead. The A's let one slip away as the Yanks came back and won 8-7 for their first of the year.
